A missing or worn-off logo does not mean the toilet is impossible to identify. In fact, the most useful information is often hidden where you do not normally look.
1. Look inside the tank
Remove the tank lid carefully and inspect the inside back wall and side walls. Look for stamped, inked, embossed or molded numbers. Photograph every marking before wiping the surface because old ink can be faint.
2. Check the bowl
Some manufacturers place identifying numbers under the bowl rim, behind the seat area or on other concealed surfaces. A phone camera and flashlight can help reach places that are hard to see directly.
3. Record the flush system
Note whether the toilet uses a standard handle, top push button, dual-flush button, pressure-assist unit or another unusual mechanism. The flush design can eliminate many wrong matches.
4. Measure the tank opening and old lid
If you still have the broken lid, measure its maximum width and depth. If the lid is missing, measure the top of the tank, but remember that tank-opening dimensions are not the same thing as finished lid dimensions.
5. Take useful photos
Photograph the full toilet from the front and side, the inside of the tank, all numbers, the top of the tank without the lid, and any surviving lid pieces. A close-up of a logo-shaped shadow or faded decal can also help.
Do not identify by size alone
Toilet tank lids are shaped to seat on a specific tank rim. Even a lid with nearly identical width and depth may rock, sit too high or fail to cover the tank correctly.
