How to Identify Your Toilet Tank Lid
Find the Correct Replacement
Toilet tank lids and tanks are model-specific. Do not order by appearance or color alone. The number stamped inside the tank or underneath the old lid is the best starting point.
What to Check
- Brand: Look for American Standard, Kohler, Gerber, Glacier Bay, TOTO, Niagara, or another manufacturer name.
- Tank number: Photograph every stamped, molded, or printed number inside the tank.
- Old lid number: Check the underside of the broken or existing lid.
- Measurements: Measure the tank opening at its widest left-to-right and front-to-back points.
- Shape: Take a straight-on photo of the tank opening and clear photos of the top and underside of the old lid.
- Color: Photograph the ceramic in natural light. White, bone, biscuit, linen, and almond are not interchangeable names across every brand.
- For complete tanks: Include the full model suffix, mounting-hole pattern, flush rate, and whether the handle is on the left or right when facing the toilet.
Send FixALid the Details
Use the FixALid contact form and include the brand, all numbers, measurements, color, and photo details above. You may also call or text 727-798-4831.
Please wait for a fit recommendation before ordering when the number is unclear. Identification help improves the odds of a correct match, but ceramic production differences mean the buyer should still compare the listing photos and measurements.
